I have a canon MX880 linked to my computers - which run Mac OS 10.6.8 - through a USB cable connected to a Mac Airport Extreme wireless dock. I've had the printer for some months and it has been printing without any real difficulty. Today I want to use it as a scanner, and, though viewing the action on the printer console gives the visual appearance of a scan being carried out, no scan is executed. After hours of troubleshooting, I found that the Image Capture application shows "No scanner or camera connected". The "show toolbar" and "customize toolbar" menu items are dimmed, and "scan results" brings up an empty box.<br />

In fact, it's 101 outside right now as I write this review on the first of August.
